The idea came from humble beginnings and an opportunity to see a dream become reality. We wanted to create something that could feed a desire to have a dedicated rope studio in the DC Metro area. We wanted to build a private space where we could welcome the community in and offer an intimate experience, freely, openly and unafraid. Just as a bird sings to welcome in the day, we open the doors of our space to welcome in our friends who each share a love and passion for bondage. Thus, we created Bound Lark Rope Studio.
BLRS is first and foremost a community space. It is a place to gather and share of ourselves, in whatever stage of the rope journey we are in, in whatever style you find yourself drawn to. We aim to foster and grow a community of respectful, mature, accepting and open-minded individuals through learning and interpersonal development in the context of rope bondage. Our mission is to gather respectful individuals in an accepting, non-judgmental, open-minded environment that fosters learning and self-discovery.
The studio is a space devoted to our local community, where we share our collective love and passion for rope bondage and how we engage with one another through rope.
The Name
Birds sing while in flight or perched, and larks are one of the few while in flight. We hope that through rope and bondage, we will each find that path to tap into our deepest most authentic selves and be able to express it in a supportive and affirmative environment.
